Caesarstone® is the registered brand name of high quality premium quartz surfaces, suitable for kitchen and bathroom worktops, sinks, shower trays, flooring and wall cladding and staircases. The company was founded near the ancient Roman city of Caesarea in 1987 and has become one of the world leaders in quartz surfaces, with a superb reputation of quality and service.

What is a Caesarstone worktop made from?

Caesarstone is an engineered stone, manufactured according to the most stringent quality controls and from the best quality natural quartz compound, comprising a minimum of 93% quartz aggregate, enhanced by a special blend of polymer resins and colour pigments.

The specially selected raw materials are pulverised and fed into special mixers, where they are blended together and then poured into moulds to form various slab sizes. These slabs are then compacted by a special vacuum and vibration process, under pressure of up to 100 tonnes. Once pressed into a compact slab, it is moved to a curing kiln where it is heated to 90 degrees Celsius for 45 minutes to obtain incredible hardness, strength, resilience and stain resistance.

The next step in the process to obtain the lustre of quartz, is to polish the slabs to a prefect finish, gauging and calibrating the thickness to exact standards. Each slab is individually inspected and labelled with a unique serial number for later identification.

The slabs are then fabricated by professional, accredited fabricators such as worktops.net into residential or commercial worktops, with all the accessories, and installed by a highly skilled team of experts, with a minimum number of almost imperceptible joints.

The client has the assurance of the highest quality, backed up by a two tiered 10-year guarantee, both by the manufacturer and fabricator if installed professionally.

How does a Caesarstone worktop differ from a Natural Stone worktop?

Caesarstone worktops are exceptionally hard, solid, non-porous surfaces with all the benefits and magnificence of marble and granite, but without any of the drawbacks. Unlike Natural stone which has microscopic pores and cracks which can absorb liquids and in which stains can settle and bacteria can grow, the high density and absolute absence of any pores or fissures, Caesarstone worktops are completely impervious to liquids, making them highly stain- and damage resistant and completely hygienic, without requiring any sealing. Caesarstone has a much brighter shine than natural stone, because the quartz crystals give it more sparkle.

In addition, Caesarstone worktops are available in a huge variety of colours, tones, styles, finishes and textures, together with other unique properties not found in natural stone. Styles include a plain, fine- or coarse- grained, or veined appearance.

Caesarstone can be joined virtually seamlessly, in ways not possible with the natural stone worktops, further adding even further to its appeal and hygienic properties.

Because of its density and uniform internal structure, Caesarstone worktops are much harder, more resilient and flexible than natural stone, making it more scratch resistant, possible to be fitted in longer lengths for an even more unified look.

The available colour tones range from Intense White to Jet Black, with more exotic colours like Turbine Grey, Moorland Fog and Staturario Maximus in between. Colours are matched much easier than natural stone, because the colours of Caesarstone are much more consistent throughout the slab and even between slabs, as they are not dependent on what is produced by the earth when granite or marble stone is quarried. Yet, the slight colour variances that do occur enhance and add the allure of luxurious natural stone, rather than detract from the product.

Caesarstone blends exceptionally well with other materials such as glass, brass, bronze, gold, silver, stainless steel and wood.

Caesarstone is generally more expensive than natural stone, but offers much greater variety and the numerous other benefits as pointed out.
