Diore-Ultra-Ardeche

Sintered materials are formed by using heat, the basic process is very similar to firing pottery and ceramics by fusing natural minerals together at high temperature. This process has been used for over 25,000 years and developed further by adding pressure which results in a ulta compact ceramic material. When cooled you are left with an extremely hard wearing and durable worktop. So much so that they out perform anything else on the market.

Diore Ultra is formed from the purest and strongest natural elements fused together with no additives or binders so not only is it extremely tough, it is extremely kind to the environment. 100% natural and 100% recyclable.

Being formed in this way produces a surface that is thoroughly heat resistant. It can be heated and cooled at the same time. Heating elements can be attached to the underside so you can even cook through the material! This means you do not have to worry about placing a hot pan down on top of the work surface.

As  with all ceramic materials you can glaze them with consistency and colour enabling limitless design possibilities without compromise.

Diore Ultra is the product of the future giving you peace of mind in your worktop choice. Easy to clean, easy to maintain, impact and heat resistant with world class aesthetics. All this combined in a very special material that is not going to cost the earth.

UV Resistant

Surfaces that are highly resistant to ultra violet (UV) light making them perfect for both indoor and outdoor applications

Durable

One of the most durable worktops, with over 5 times the flexural strength of granite, they have a high level of resistance

Heat Resistant

Ultra Compact surfaces are heat resistant, so no need to worry about those hot pots and pans while you are cooking

Non-Porous

Bacteria and mould have nowhere to take root. When it looks clean, it really is clean

Easy to Clean

With a non-porous surface that prevents dirt and stains from penetrating the material. Most marks and stains can easily be removed

Technical & Design Information

Joints
Ultra compact worktop joints are finished with a small ariss to the top edge. Silicone sealant is applied to prevent water ingression.

Heavily Veined / Particulated Colours
These colours are highly unlikely to have continuous flow of the pattern when 2 sheets or 2 pieces of the same sheet are seamed together. The change of pattern will show up on the seam area

Thermal expansion
Due to thermal expansion Neolith can expand up to 1mm per metre.

Overhangs and supports
Any overhang extending more than 300mm must be supported.

Upstands
Upstands less than 100mm high are extremely fragile and are not recommended.
Upstands are not normally cut from the same slab as the worksurfaces and therefore an exact colour match is not possible.

Your new Diore Ultra worktops will need care and maintenance to keep them in good order over the years.

If you choose a polished finish they will be more easy to wipe down when compared to natural finishes which hold dirt more due to the surface texture.

This means Natural Finishes take a little longer to clean than Polished but if you use cleaning information in our Cleaning and Maintenance for Ultra Compact Surfaces Guide (link below) you will be able to remove the most stubborn stains.

However Natural Finishes are more resilient to scratching than polished if objects are dragged across the worktops (which should be avoided).

The best advice is to wipe up spillages when they happen and dry the worktop off with a tea towel,

Scratches
Ultra Compacts are highly scratch resistant but not scratch proof.

Staining
Ultra Compact worktops are incredibly hard and non-porous and will not absorb liquids, but it is still possible that grease, wine, coffee, nicotine, fruit juices and other strongly coloured substances can stain the surface if not properly protected or if the spills are not cleaned up immediately.

Hygienic
Polished Ultra Compact worktops are naturally hygienic as they are non-porous

Handling
For installation of worktops weighing above 120kg, you will need to supply additional labour at no cost to Worktops.net, every additional 75kg requires an extra person to assist with lifting.
